Most people who move into an AMS house take a double. There is space for a proper desk alongside the bed, room for a suitcase to live somewhere other than the floor, and enough of them across the city that you usually have a real choice of neighbourhood rather than taking whatever is left.

Some are interior rooms, which face into the building rather than the street, quieter, darker and cheaper. Others open onto a balcony. Both are let on the same terms, with everything included.

The largest concentrations are in Alameda, Saldanha and Marquês de Pombal, which between them cover the student, business and central parts of the city.
