The neighbourhood

Living in Saldanha

This is the neighbourhood for people who want everything within a few blocks. Supermarkets, gyms, the El Corte Inglés department store, dozens of lunch spots and a steady supply of coworking desks are all walkable, and the Praça Duque de Saldanha roundabout is the point half the city's bus routes pass through.

It suits master's students and young professionals in equal measure. ISCTE is a short walk or one stop north and Católica is close by. NOVA SBE is in Carcavelos, reachable by train from Cais do Sodré, and the offices along Avenida da República mean a lot of our residents here have a commute measured in minutes rather than transfers.

The red and yellow metro lines both stop at Saldanha, and the red line runs straight to the airport, worth more than it sounds when you are flying home every few months.
