What renting in Alameda is actually like
Alameda holds more AMS rooms than any other part of Lisbon, and that changes how it behaves. There is almost always something free, houses turn over steadily through the year rather than all at once in September, and if a room goes while you are deciding there is usually a comparable one in the same street.
The stock is weighted heavily towards doubles, which is why the entry price here is set by a double rather than a single. Interior rooms sit at the bottom of that range and go first, because they are the cheapest way into a five minute walk from Instituto Superior Técnico. Studios exist but are rare, so if you want your own kitchen this is not the address to hold out for.
- Is Alameda cheaper than the rest of Lisbon?
- To enter, yes, and by more than people expect. The cheapest rooms here are interior doubles rather than singles, so the headline figure is set by a room most people would not have thought to filter for.
- How quickly do rooms in Alameda go?
- The cheap ones go fastest, because they are the cheapest route to a campus walk in the whole city. Mid-range doubles sit longer. Because this is our largest cluster there is usually a second option on the same street.
- Can I get a studio in Alameda?
- Occasionally, but they are a handful out of more than a hundred rooms. If a studio is the requirement rather than the preference, Marquês de Pombal is where they actually are.

Booking terms
We're flexible: you can stay for just a few days or for the long term. Most residents stay for a semester or a full academic year, and there's no obligation to sign a twelve-month contract. Minimum stays can vary by house, so check the room's listing before you book.
It’s simple! We accept payments via credit card, bank transfer or cash.
Yes, there’s a security deposit to ensure everything stays in great condition. It’s returned at the end of your stay, as long as everything’s in order.
