What renting in Marquês de Pombal is actually like
This is the studio address. Nearly every self-contained unit we let in Lisbon is here, alongside the only full apartments, and that one fact explains the whole price profile: the median sits well above every other area because the stock itself is different, not because the same room costs more.
It is also the one area with no single rooms and no twins at all. The choice here is a double in a shared flat or your own front door, with very little between. People who take a studio here are usually working rather than studying, staying longer than a semester, and would rather pay for a kitchen than share one.
- Why is Marquês de Pombal more expensive?
- Because of what is available, not what it costs. Studios and apartments make up a large share of the stock here and almost none elsewhere, so the middle of the range sits higher even though a shared double is priced much like anywhere central.
- Can I rent a studio or a whole apartment here?
- Yes, and realistically this is the only place to look. Nearly all of our studios and every apartment are at this address, at the top of Avenida da Liberdade.
- Are there cheap single rooms in Marquês de Pombal?
- No. There are no single rooms here at all. The cheapest way in is a double in a shared flat, and if a single is what you want, Saldanha is two metro stops away and has the most of them.

Booking terms
We're flexible: you can stay for just a few days or for the long term. Most residents stay for a semester or a full academic year, and there's no obligation to sign a twelve-month contract. Minimum stays can vary by house, so check the room's listing before you book.
It’s simple! We accept payments via credit card, bank transfer or cash.
Yes, there’s a security deposit to ensure everything stays in great condition. It’s returned at the end of your stay, as long as everything’s in order.
